Type ‘C’ static dissipative FIBC’s (super-sacks or big bags) are commonly used in the chemical, paint and processing industries to prevent dangerous levels of static accumulation which may result in electrostatic discharges from the surface of the FIBC or allow adjacent objects or operators to become charged by induction. The Earth-Rite FIBC ensures that the Type ‘C’ bag is correctly grounded and within the correct surface resistivity range before material filling or discharge can take place.
The system provides a power supply unit which converts 110-volt / 220-volt power supply to an Intrinsically Safe (I.S.) circuit, thereby allowing the monitoring panel to be mounted in the hazardous atmosphere of the loading station. A red/green LED light indicator provides operator awareness of the proper resistance levels and ground condition. A voltage free switch contact provides an interlock control characteristic.
